Intensive Treatment & Support Program

What We Do

The Intensive Treatment & Support Program (ITSP) is available for children and youth who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, as a time-limited service and support to respond to a specific identified need to prevent further escalation or risk of harm to a child or youth, other people or property based on high risk factors. Imminent risk includes but not limited to severe maladaptive behaviour resulting in immediate safety concerns in the home environment that could result in harm to self or others, or the loss of placement. These behaviours may include aggression, property destruction, self-injury, extreme food refusal, etc.

What to Expect

The purpose of this program is to provide assessment and short-term treatment to address the most prominent area of risk in the home environment. You will be asked to collect data and participate in putting treatment strategies in place. Once stabilized, we can help families connect to other relevant services. We will connect with community partners in a collaborative approach and we will also support families with service navigation throughout and at discharge to existing services in the community such as ABA Services and supports in school, the OAP program, CCN Coordinated Service Planning, etc.

This service is voluntary. Should you feel that that this service does not meet your needs, we will support with connecting them to other appropriate services in the community.

This is not a crisis service. For a child or youth in crisis, please reach out to Crisis services in your community.

Referral Pathways

Referrals to the Intensive Treatment & Support Program (ITSP) could occur through multiple pathways, including the legal guardian, a family member, clinician or other relevant involved professional.
